Sea Squirts Program
Ages 6 & 7 Must be 6 years old by 7/1/26.
The Sea Squirts program is the starting point for our youngest students! The program is designed to introduce future junior sailors to the sailing environment, to fun and safety in, around and on the water and will introduce the basics of rigging a boat, boat handling, terminology and sportsmanship. Activities build confidence and may include knot tying, nautical terminology, crafts, songs and water activities designed to prepare the future junior sailor for formal sailing instruction eventually advancing to beginner Opti depending on age and level of achievement. Instruction is done with 1 or 2 students in an Opti, riding on a safety boat and/or sailing with an adult on a small sailboat. The goal of this course is to build young sailor's love for sailing in a controlled and safe environment. The class is designed to work with the children at the level that they are comfortable with; therefore, we will not force a child to do something that they are uncomfortable doing.
